A bike tour across Europe is a cycling adventure vacation of a lifetime. We started biking down the Portugal coast south of Lisbon and set our destination as somewhere past Tuscany, Italy. The original plan was to cycle through Switzerland, Germany, and Belgium heading south through France towards Spain, but due to us cycling through a European winter, we decided a cycling route that included less snow would be favourable.
A European bicycle tour has been on the horizon for us three, Lachlan McKenna, Sam Armstrong, and Simon Martin, for only a short while. The organizing of a cycling trip only started 3 months before we were to start peddling. Lachlan was in England, Sam in France, and Simon in Australia. Needless to say that it was difficult organizing a European cycling trip. We tried to incorporate all the destinations southern Europe had to offer and did a pretty good job compared with organized bike tours of Europe.

The biking trip started in early November and finished, officially on New Years Day in Rome. It was a European cycling trek that none of us will forget. We are sharing our experiences of our adventure holiday on this site to help you discover Europe on a bike.
